A new opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Manager to join a key organisation in the utility sector based in Walsall. Your benefits include: company car or company car allowance, company mobile and laptop, crèche onsite and plenty more. 

This role allows you to use your expertise in building compliance and management.  You will be managing the facilities for over 200 buildings, this includes managing asbestos, fix wire testing, TM44 and plenty other facility requirements.    

You will be joining a large utility company who supplies to over 1 million people and over 30,000 commercial customers throughout the Midlands and surrounding areas.

As the Facilities Manager, your duties will include:

  • Managing an extended team across both the regions with 4 direct reports
  • Owning and delivering a detailed plan of works across all sites including understanding of resource requirements in line with budget
  • Ensuring all regulatory / legal requirements are met, monitored and updated including but not limited to asbestos monitoring and removal, legionella monitoring and avoidance, gas inspection checks, electrical inspection checks, fire safety regulations, health and safety compliance, risk management and training for the team, site security regulations
  • Ensuring all sites have up to date building surveys detailing required works and timelines
  • Being accountable for budgetary spend control across all areas of responsibility

As the Facilities Manager, you will have:

  • A Qualification as a Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in multi-site buildings and property management, with the relevant accreditations and knowledge with regards to regulatory requirements in areas however this is not essential
  • Extensive understanding of regulatory landscape in building management and experience of adapting process to changing requirements
  • Previous Leadership skills
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • You may have experience of one of the following: Director, Head of Property Repairs, Quantity Surveyor, Surveyor, Director, Consultant and Property Manager. 

As the Facilities Manager, your salary will be up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
